Fan Item Thread
I figure since this is the Soul Smiths' Workshop that it'd be okay to post this here. Technically it's not characters but it's still a thing that, if done properly, can be included as a small cameo in the adventure (if I remember correctly that is!).
So, considering that, I assume that having them here instead of the Fan Works would be fine. The best way one would go about making Fan Items is with the template linked here and the template linked here.
It is with these Item Cards that Fan Items are created, so far several of them have already been uploaded to the wiki. This is the thread that one should go to for critique and advice on an unfinished or finished Item Card that they have created.
Let me start if I may, here's one of my creations from a while ago that I never got around to showing to anyone (except gS via PM, but that was only the picture of the skates, not the actual card.)
Any thoughts, ideas, or questions?

- Spoiler:
Spray Skates is a fan-item created by MSPA user Shailsnic. It is item number 088, and it's cost is probably somewhere along the lines of 230 Credits. It is in the rarity category of 'Flower'. The only character that this item can be equipped by is Clyde, and the idea of it was created after one of Shailsnic's commands in the forum. In the adventure itself, the thought of doing such a thing was actually considered, but then the door opened.
EFFECTS:
An unaltered pair of Spray Skates changes Rollerbonk to be a spinning back-kick move instead of an actual bonk. When hit by the back-kick, the button on the spray paint will be pressed and will turn the enemy's face red, probably getting some of the paint in their eyes. If the paint gets in their eyes it causes Blindness on the enemy for a couple of turns. Humor Crafting effects for this item include, but are not limited to:- Aegis: Turns of Blindness increased by 1
- Vision: Higher Chance of inflicting Blindness
- Ardent: +1 Attack Damage
- Aegis: Turns of Blindness increased by 1
Any thoughts, ideas, or questions?

Wow that's pretty cool. :'O
So does the extra command given by Ardent is done correctly do you just get an extra attack?

Well that was the general idea, after thinking about it for a few seconds though I realize that if that were the case people would only go for Ardent mixing, gotta balance it probably..
Maybe an additional hit that's not as strong as the hits before it? *shrug*

Re: Fan Item Thread
Maybe Ardent could get the 1+ attack and Aegis could increase blindness duration by 1 turn?

Gonna edit that in. That seems like a much better option.

Re: Fan Item Thread
Can/does/should something like this even count...?
I can't believe I actually went and made this, even if it is just a quick doodle I came up with using Paint. I wish Crazee/Amazy/etc. Dayzees had more petals... Only four makes for a pretty underwhelming pinwheel.
BTW the petal colors are pretty much representing each of the four types of Dayzees: cream-yellow for Crazee, gold for Amazy, lavender-ish for 'Bubble', and dark blue for Dark. The green is for the leaves/plant-nature, and pink because bubblegum.
Hey, are there any other flower-like Mario enemies I could base this candy on that would work better as inspiration for a pinwheel lollipop...?

Re: Fan Item Thread
Well there's this giant flower from Yoshi's Island:
But it's not really an enemy.
I'm going to assume yours is the equivalent of a Zess T. or Tayce T. Recipe, in which case what restorative effects does it have?

Re: Fan Item Thread
Actually the initial idea of it was a Team Attack component for small/lightweight characters (meaning the idea came from Punelipi >.<; ) where one member (if only one of them is small/lightweight and/or landbound, that one by default) would eat the gumball and blow a big bubble with it and float up into the air and then the partner would 'target' (one of) the opponent(s) and the bubble-blower would then toss a candy petal at the targeted opponent.
This would happen multiple times (the amount increasing along with the level of the attack), and if there were multiple enemies then the target would switch for each throw-- not that it couldn't hit the same opponent twice, just that it would hit random opponents.
Maybe as the level increased the flower-candy used could have more petals...? No, wait, that makes no sense, then the Team Attack would require multiple types of flower-candy items depending on its level...
...Umm. ANYWAY. As a healing item, I have no clue whatsoever, really... -.-;

Oh haha, I remember when I made a dozen of these when the templates first went up.
Wonder if any of them will ever make canon appearances...

Re: Fan Item Thread
I was thinking of making rainboow boondages for boo characters.
Maybe Turnaboot could give 5+FP, 5+HP, 10+FP, 10+HP, or 10+ HP & 10+FP, While other humors could give 5+HP & 5+FP.
So it's a random chance item. I think 280credits would be good. :'o

@arcaneScribbler
Ooooooh. I get ya now. I'd like to point out that Shyla's Soda's have set effects and are potential catalysts for Team attack as well. (or at least one is, as shown by Boo Buddies).
So, basically your item can in fact be a restoration item as well as a catalyst for a team attack.
I'd say something along the lines of +15HP +25FP by the looks of it. Also, an item can't do the exact same thing for every character when used. Like for example, my Bob-omb, while light weight and small, does not have a mouth, therefore if he used it the item would be used in a completely different manner OR just used in its regular manner, which is as a healing item.
Basically, while it can be a thing that is used to active team attacks, it won't always activate a team attack, and if it does then it won't be the same team attack as someone else's.
@Harvest Ty
Well get to work on it and we'll see how it turns out friend!

Re: Fan Item Thread
Imbuing with turnabout should give random beneficial effects, different for everybody and highly inconsistent. Imbue a bandage with it once, and it's a speed booster. Do it with the same type again, and it increases the FP cap. This is consistent with it's randomness when split-mixing. Is this the right place to post this? I have no idea.

Yep, this is the right place, no other thread related to Items yet other than this one.

Re: Fan Item Thread
I'd prefer yo keep it at a random HP/FP gain. Turnaboot will still have that randomness, but it's more tooled for a specific area.

Re: Fan Item Thread
Nah, just a randomish HP FP gain. I have an idea though for an item that could work like a Lucky start except maybe each humor could increase the capabilities of one effect and make it the only effect given, while Turnaboot could randomly combine buffs at the beginning for more of a start or give none at all.

Re: Fan Item Thread
Depending on the item a humor has a different effect when used on it.
This means that it is probably impossible for Turnabout to ALWAYS be random FP or HP gain, it could be something different completely!
I thought I should just point that out.
(I am tired and have a headache, I am probably misunderstanding you, I don't know.)

Re: Fan Item Thread
I'm just saying that for the specific item you can get a standard hp/fp gain with any humor but turnaboot which can give a more randomized hp/fp gain(or maybe even none).

Re: Fan Item Thread
Wait, how about we collaberatize a fan item? We agree on what it is and each of us give effects depending on humors infused?
